Flight from HCMC/ TIA (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) to KLIA2

Route: Tan Son Nhat International Airport to KLIA 2
Date: 2 July 2019
Mode: Plane ride
Duration:  16:20 – 19:20 (3 hours/ actual 16:50 – 19:50)
Fare: 64.19 USD
Difficulty: Nothing encountered, my body has been accustomed to hardship
Highlight: Smooth pass through immigration officers, travel from one country to another

I was able to reach Than So Nhat International Airport (TIA) at 13:20, earlier than expected. I checked in immediately and everything went smooth.

I then went next to the immigration counters and when I faced the officer, he asked what I did in Vietnam. I told him that I toured around HCMC and visited the floating market in Can Tho.He also asked if I have work in Indonesia and I affirmed. He followed up to ask why I needed to pass by Kuala Lumpur. I told him that KL is nearer to Pekanbaru where I am working. He seems to have been satisfied that he stamped the exit mark. I smiled at him giving my softest “Thank you” utterance.

I got time to observe the airport while waiting for boarding. The boarding gate of the airport is very near the immigration counters and security checkpoints. TIA is way much smaller than NAIA Terminals and KLIA 2. Nonetheless, I can feel the ambience of cleanliness, peace and calmness of people around. Staffs are visible everywhere and they seem to be approachable. But the problem is, they were not able to help me connect to the wifi. They have difficulty communicating in English.

I boarded the plane at 16:50 and departed at 17:14. The plane took off at 17:25. And reached KLIA2 at 19:50. I spent the night at the airport and enjoyed a cold and inconvenient sleep in one of the many corners of the terminal.
